These are photos I took around my grandparents' home town, when we took Pa's ashes back there to be placed in the memorial wall. I've got tags tucked under the pics with some journalling about why each of these places were special. Nan and Pa hadn't lived there for a long time, but they always considered themselves Portland people. The pics include photos of their old house (which is now heritage listed, and looks way smaller than it is in my memories!) the cement works where Pa worked for most of his adult life until they closed down, the pool which is only there because of his hard work, and the cemetary where our family surnames appear with astonishing regularity.
I've used 3 Crate Paper papers and tags, Everlasting Keepsakes, Grungeboard and Carolee's alphas, and Stampin' Up ribbon and jumbo eyelets.
I've also used some brads and metal photo corners. 9 photos ... I think that has all the elements covered!!

Wow.. this is really beautiful. I love pages that have such a depth of meaning and it is something that you do so well. Everything really works perfectly here but I particularly love the way you have placed and overlapped your photos. I've only been to Portland once but thought it was a lovely place Smile

P-T, I so wish I could read your journaling. What an historically significant layout! Your photo placement has worked really well as has the title. Love the colours and the way you've used the pp too.

PT, this is sensational. What a fantastic piece of history to capture for both your family, as well as for generations to come.
