I made these cute little baskets with the kids for Easter but they would also be great for Mother’s Day, Birthdays, Christmas etc. The noodle boxes I used were from Woolworths and they didn’t come with the wire handle. I found they were easy to cut down and we added our own cardstock handles.
- Clean, empty noodle box
- Various papers for decorating
- Flower punches in various sizes and a butterfly punch if desired
- Ribbon, ink and bling for decorating
- Adhesive – double sided tape and foam mount
- General scrapbooking supplies
Firstly cut off the flaps from the top of the noodle box to make even sides.
Trace around the sides of the noodle box to make templates for cutting the patterned paper to decorate the sides. Cut your pieces of paper slightly smaller than the traced shapes so that when you adhere them to the noodle box there will be a small border. Ink the edges of the pieces you have cut.
Cut a 2cm wide piece of card for the handle and ink the edges. Adhere the handle to the noodle box using double sided tape. Adhere the patterned paper sides to the noodle box using double sided tape – covering the ends of the handle thus making it more secure.
Decorate the top edge of the box with punched flowers – mounting some on foam mount to give more dimension. Add ribbon, adhesive bling and extra punchies as desired. You could also add a tag with a greeting or name on it.
I hope you enjoyed this little step x step and don’t forget to share your creations with us either by posting a link in the comments or uploading into our gallery.
