I was inspired by the Tibetan Prayer Flags and deveoped these along the same lines, with the idea of hanging them across doorways or windows - though mine didn't quite get that far as I had other spots for them.

To make 9 letter flags, you will need:

Arrow 1 sheet double sided pp or 2 sheets of single sided pp
Arrow chipboard letters (Im sure theyd be just as effective with rub-ons or stickers)
Arrow embellishments
Arrow tinsel

1. Cut the patterned paper.
Cut 4 x" strips off one side, then make 9 equally-sized squares, 4 x 3 1/3

2. Paint your chipboard letters

3. You will be alternating the colours.
Choose your colour arrangement and ink the edges.

4. Cut the thin strips into 3 inch lengths. You will need two per letter, using the alternate colour.

5. Embellish each flag adding one letter to each.

6. Tape the thin strips to the top of the reverse side.

7. Place the tinsel across the strips, fold the strips down (slightly lower than the first strip of dst) and secure. DOUBLE CHECK YOUR PLACEMENT ORDER they will need to be in reverse.

8. Now the first one is ready to hang.

I really like them! I'm not sold on the tinsel so I'm going to think about a diff runner for them. I think my kids would be able to help me with these.

I've started the first two sets. I don't use my chipboard alphas much any more, particularly not the large ones, so this is a good way to get into old stash. I found enough letters for two JOYs and two NOELs.

Now I just have to decide what to hang them on as tinsel isn't going to fit in the tins. They would probably look okay hanging from some brown string or something similar I think.. pity I don't have any string Confused I imagine it won't be that hard to find though.

Well I have finished my first one of these... I even EMBOSSED Shocked Shocked for what must have been the second time in my scrapping life (I hope you are proud of me Miss Flea!)

I have used the calico, since it was easily available (thanks Lorraine) and it looks great.

Thanks for a great project Kathy Very Happy Very Happy
