okie dokie... shall i start then?

i thought you might be interested to see where it all happens - yes, this was a tidy photo... Embarassed

and this is what i start with:

i chose two b&w photos - i'd printed them on one 6x4. you should all know this about me by now - i love multiple small photos!

oh, i should say feel free to use colour photos and how ever many you like! although it won't be much of an anna-ish page if you use bigger than 6x4 or so many that most of the page is covered... Wink

once i've decided which photos i want to scrap, i find a background for it - my go-to colours are white, cream and kraft. i see what each looks like with my photos, and if one of them is right, i use that, and if i need to, i move on to other colours or pp for the background - feel free to do what ever your photos need!

first i tried white...

then cream...

then kraft...

i decided to go with white.

(oh, and please excuse the terrible photos - it's really hard to take photos of white inside and at night... who knew?)

Hi, I'm here (sort of), I'm trying to work on my Masterchook LO while Oliver is asleep, but I will be keeping a close eye on the computer.

This is looking good Anna and it's great reading the process you go through when making a page.

I'm here too but doubt I'll get much done as I do have someone booked for the class this afternoon - maybe she won't come but don't like my chances of that happening - she is the sort of person who always turns up or lets you know if she's not coming.

hi jan, emma and lorraine! (oh, and kathy, too, because i didn't say hi before... Wink )

for these photos, i knew the title i wanted to use already - supermodel! i cut this out on my silhouette, but you could handcut if you're feeling brave, or use some stickers (if you're not going to use glimmermist, i'd suggest cardstock-weight alphas... Wink )

this next step is one of my design principles... Wink

i arranged my photos and title roughly how i wanted them on the page.

here's my principle: i like my photos to be visually anchored.

to do this, i almost always have them touching or overlapping, and if they're not, they're usually lined up in a very orderly manner. i also make sure i create an area within the page where most of the stuff-to-look-at will sit. it's like i create a boundary, and then ignore it just a little... Wink

sometimes i like having a piece of pp as the anchor - like this page.
sometimes it's an embellishment - like the silhouette cut-out on this page.
quite often it's a shape - like the circles here and on the page i'm going to show you. Wink

Hi Everyone!! Totally disorganised for this class, but I will get back after lunch and have a go.

And I have bought some glimmermist now...... Embarassed hahaha. One question already Anna, can we do the title last?

to decide how i'm going to create the visual anchor, i decide what kind of shape i'd like.

a rectangle usually lends itself well to pp

and i often use a circle if i'm going to be masking.

i like circles, because i use a plate, and i don't have to cut anything out... Laughing

i sometimes use a dinner plate, but this time i knew a side plate would be the right size.

hi hilary! you could do the title last, but there's a step that you'll have to skip. if you're okay with that - that's fine! it's your page... Wink

Sorry, Anna, I've not been focusing as I've been trying to finish my Round 6 MC sample. But I'm putting it aside and will get going on this. Unfortunately, I have to dash off with dh for half an hour or so soon, but will get straight back to this when we return.

OK, I have a photo....... Smile
