There are lots of wonderful techniques using gesso and this month it is one of our focus products. I have used it to create texture and as a resist. It is great for using with your templates and as a primer for mixed media projects. It is Aldo a good primer on chipboard and wooden embellishments. How have you used gesso?

I have stocked Jo Sonya's and Derivan gesso - the Derivan one being cheaper and I have decided I prefer the Jo Sonya's as it seems to stand up to more punishment when used as a primer. Some people say they prefer the better brand gesso but others say it doesn't matter. What do you think?

I think I must have deleted it without reading the bit about gesso... Embarassed I did buy some last weekend when I went for the dst to do the invitations, though.

I have gone through quite a lot of gesso recently and am quite happy to use a relatively cheap one. I'm not sure if it is Derivan or Liquitex. I love the way it turns book paper or bazzill into painting paper. I love that you can use it with a stencil to get texture.
